Licenses

The ClassiX^® license protection consists of one or more license files. These files generally have the extension .lic, such as classix.lic.

This license file contains the licensee name. Further constraints are possible and can be checked with the license file:

• There can be respond time constraints (such as limited to May 31st, 2007).
• Database constraint can allow for only one specific database to be used with the license.
• Constraints can limit the license to a specific computer.

The license file cannot be changed. Its authenticity and unchangeability is ensured via digital signature.

Accordingly, license files can only be purchased directly from the ClassiX^® Software GmbH.

In case a license is constrained to one computer only, a clear computer identification must be sent to the ClassiX^® Software GmbH. The tool "cxhwid" generates the so-called "Hardeare ID". For this, simply execute the program "cxhwid" in the command line with the according computer. It is possible, that hardware modifications in this computer change the ID and therefore make a license invalid. In this case, a new license is required.
